Simple Hack to Update Your Cabinets on a Budget

If you’re like me, you’re always looking for simple ways to make your home prettier and more functional. When we bought our house in 2015, everything had been updated and it was move-in ready! [Insert praise hands!?] There have been some little things along the way that we have changed to make it our own, and today I’m sharing something I wish I had done much sooner! This simple change made all the difference, and to top it off I only spent around $100. Double win!

So here are the knobs that have been on our cabinets. There’s really nothing wrong with them, I just wasn’t crazy about the brushed nickel on our brown cabinets. I typically lean more towards the warmer tones and I knew I loved the look of gold hardware on brown cabinets, so off to Lowes and Home Depot I went!  While there I discovered that I was really drawn to the champagne bronze finish. ? It’s not quite as yellow as the true gold. It’s just right in my opinion!  I bought a few different knobs to sample, which I would recommend doing because I actually ended up liking a different one than I expected I would. I also guessed on size for the drawer pulls and was totally wrong so I need a larger one. Learn from my mistake and measure before you head out to shop! ?

I ended up deciding to go with these gorgeous champagne bronze knobs from Home Depot and the matching drawer pulls. I love the shape of them. Not too square, not too round. JUST RIGHT. ? Once I had made the decision, I got started taking the old ones off and putting the new ones on. It’s a super easy process and all I needed was a screwdriver! If I can do it, you can do it! The end result was even better than I imagined! I love the way this turned out. It just adds some warmth to my already warm toned kitchen and ties everything together really nicely.

This is such a quick and simple way to update your kitchen without spending a fortune. It’s also a great idea to keep in mind if you are getting your home ready to go on the market. Clients ask me all the time for ways to improve the appeal and value of their home without spending too much, and this is a recommendation I often make. I’m not sure why it took me so long to do it myself!

Next on the agenda is to find the perfect light fixtures to match. Stay tuned for that and more to come! I’m so glad you’re here! Please leave a comment to say “Hi” and follow me on social media!

Until next time!
